The Final cut – A film about Jane

Umberto Aguiar made this 6 minute film about my linocutting.

It is filmed mostly at London Zoo, Amsterdam Zoo and in my studios in West London and in Brixton.  Of course we would have loved to film some of it (not all of it!) in the wild but this option was not open to us.  I hope you enjoy it!’

Filmmaker, Umberto Aguiar, made this short film of my linocutting process. Umberto and I started filming at London Zoo and finished at Artichoke Print Workshop, my studio in Brixton, where I take my linocuts for editioning. Umberto also included clips from Amsterdam and Berlin zoos.

Umberto is a news cameraman and editor who has shot and/or edited videos for NRK (the Norwegian state TV), France 2 (the French state TV), Associated Press, CNN, CNBC, Telemundo/NBC, USAGM and several other broadcasters from Spain, Portugal, Finland, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Middle East countries. He has also shot and/or edited documentaries and corporate videos, working for the Brazilian government, the United Nations and NGOs.

After discovering that ZSL, incorporating London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo, has evolved into a world leading conservation centre with numerous outreach programmes, I donated three of my animal linocuts to London Zoo.
